Outstanding Custom Wine Cellar Project in Orange County: Small But Impressive!
In one of their projects, they created a beautiful glass wine cabinet for a luxurious home perched on a West Vancouver mountain with breathtaking ocean views. The homeowners had filled their house with modern touches and desired to transform the dining area’s back wall near the kitchen into a wine display space.
After careful evaluation and planning, Blue Grouse Wine Cellars devised a design that not only matched the home’s existing decor but also made the most of the available space for storing wine. The custom glass-front wine cabinet has now become a stunning centerpiece in the dining area of the home, like a piece of art on display.
The custom glass cabinet measures 8 feet in width, 8 feet in height, and 1.5 feet in depth. Blue Grouse Wine Cellars created the cabinet’s framework and gave it an Espresso finish, carefully chosen to match the kitchen millwork and maintain a cohesive color scheme throughout the dining area.
An impressive feature of this wine cabinet is that can be taken apart and put back together, making it movable. If you ever decide to change its location, it might involve some renovations, but it’s a handy feature. This glass wine cabinet is an excellent choice for those who plan to move to a new home in the future but still want a wine display that looks like a custom wine cellar.
Space-Savvy Wine Racks Perfect for Small Wine Cellars
Small wine cellars, despite their limited space, can be transformed into charming and functional havens for wine enthusiasts. The key to making the most of these cozy corners? Install stylish wine racks!
For this project, the Blue Grouse team opted for VintageView’s metal wine racks. These racks are an ideal choice for small spaces due to their versatile installation options. Whether it’s a snug nook or a narrow spot in your home, these racks can be easily installed, or you can mount them on the wall.
Modern Residential Wine Cellar Design for a Small Space
When the homeowners decided to work with Blue Grouse Wine Cellars, a thorough assessment marked the first step in the journey. This process is like laying the groundwork for a masterpiece because it allows the builder to grasp the client’s specific needs, tailor the custom wine cellar accordingly, and, importantly, prevent costly changes down the road.
With a watchful eye for detail, Blue Grouse Wine Cellars collected all the vital information needed to craft the perfect wine room. Picture this: the room stands 9 feet high, spans 5 feet wide, and extends 8 feet deep. To bring the vision to life, they whipped up 3-dimensional drawings, offering the homeowners a vivid preview of the finished wine room. These CAD images aren’t just ordinary sketches; they include different elevation views, various racking styles, dimensions, and even bottle capacities.
The next act in this captivating story involved Blue Grouse presenting their design proposal to the clients. Once given the green light, they embarked on the installation of this modern home wine cellar, turning the dream into a stunning reality.
Minimalist Wine Rack Designed for Contemporary Small Wine Cellars
In this installation project, the owners aimed for a minimalist design. To achieve this, Blue Grouse Wine Cellars used metal wine racks from VintageView, a top-notch manufacturer of metal wine storage systems.
These wine racks are unique as they display the wine labels facing forward, making it a breeze to find a particular bottle. On the right wall, you’ll spot single deep, wall-mounted wine racks, which are perfect for small wine cellars since they don’t take up any floor space.
The focal point of this modern home wine cellar is the back wall. Blue Grouse Wine Cellars installed triple deep wine racks arranged in a rectangular arch on the top half of the wall. At the peak of this arch, they added a stemware rack (also from VintageView) designed to hold wine glasses upside down.
For a sleek and cohesive look, they applied a Brushed Nickel finish to the wine racks, which complements the cabinetry. Speaking of cabinetry, there are five sequoia-style doors made from Maple with a custom finish. These cabinets are perfect for storing the client’s wine cellar accessories and wooden cases.
