Standout Residential Wine Cellar Design by Orange County Wine Cellar Builders
Harvest Custom Wine Cellars and Saunas built a refrigerated wine room for their client’s expanding collection. Collaborating with the client was fantastic! The stunning wine rack design and exquisite flooring will leave you in awe.
Creating an eye-catching custom wine cellar is crucial for those who collect wine but may not have invested in a climate-controlled storage space. A stable environment is vital for the graceful aging of wines. The appeal and functionality of a wine cellar rely on factors like racking design, flooring, and the cooling system installed.
When embarking on your dream wine cellar project, seeking guidance from experienced builders like Harvest Custom Wine Cellars and Saunas is vital. Exploring cellar design ideas online is a fantastic way to express your style and preferences for your cellar features.
In California, homeowners sought Harvest’s expertise, inspired by an online cellar image. Their goal? To create a perfectly climate-controlled space for their wine collection, ensuring proper aging. Using this image as a starting point, they tailored the cellar design to fit their storage needs precisely.
At Harvest, they provide free CAD drawings for their clients, highlighting 3D designs with various room dimensions, racking styles, and bottle capacities. Collaborating during the design phase was delightful; the client knew their preferences and was swift in considering proposed ideas. With minimal tweaks from the original design, they transitioned smoothly into the construction phase.
The homeowners are avid wine collectors, regularly adding bottles from various U.S. wine regions and clubs, aiming for a collection of about 2,000 bottles. Making the most of the cellar space was crucial.
Custom Wine Rack Design Perfect for Creating Modern Home Wine Cellars
In their approach to wine cellar design, they prioritize selecting the ideal racking system tailored to their client’s requirements. For this project, they ingeniously merged metal and wood, achieving not just a functional storage solution but also a visually stunning display. Their focus remained on maximizing the room’s storage capacity, ensuring every bottle found its perfect place.
VintageView’s triple-deep wine storage system expands the homeowners’ collection space, adding a touch of sophistication to the cellar’s modern-traditional fusion.
The choice of horizontal metal display racks was deliberate for easy label viewing and efficient collection management. With VintageView’s label-forward display design, there’s no need to flip bottles to see wine names and descriptions. Adding flair, valances were installed above and below, spotlighting the metal rack display in a striking manner.
The arched display includes a tabletop, offering a dedicated area for decanting, serving, and wine tasting. On either side of the arch are individual wine racks and a high-reveal display row. This display row positions the bottles at an angle, ensuring the cork stays in contact with the wine and maintaining its moisture to prevent drying and brittleness.
Additionally, at the lower section, a drawer and a double-door cabinet were incorporated, providing storage for the client’s accessories such as decanters, napkins, stemware, can openers, and more.
To achieve an elegant appearance, a wood finish of alder wheat stain with an unlacquered look was applied. The niche, combined with the metal wine racking, has the capacity to hold approximately 1,680 bottles.
Stylish Wine Cellar Flooring
When planning a wine cellar, do not overlook the importance of flooring. Like the racks, cooling system, and lighting, it greatly influences the overall ambiance of your Richmond wine cellar.
Numerous flooring choices exist. In this case, we opted for a herringbone-style tile for our client. The zigzag pattern and diverse shades inject character into the wine room.
