We work with master builders in Orange County in transforming small spaces into modern home wine cellars. To achieve the minimalist and elegant look, the areas were enclosed in glass to create aesthetically pleasing wine displays of the client’s favorite vintages. Space constraints did not hinder them from impressing their clients. Learn more about the impressive designs created by our partners in wine room construction and some tips from Wine Cellars 101!
Modern design is continuously increasing in demand, especially in high-end residential areas in California. It can be achieved using neutral colors and clean lines. The two popular materials used for building modern home wine cellars are glass and metal. At Custom Wine Cellars Orange County, we work with top-notch builders who are dedicated to creating a showpiece in their client’s homes regardless of space. In fact, we have converted small closets and spaces under the stairs into jaw-dropping wine rooms.
Steve Pantalemon, the owner and lead designer of a group of Orange County experts, has completed award-winning projects where he designed small spaces to transform them into showpieces. Arctic Metalworks is also one of our dealers in wine cellar construction.
They are composed of professional designers and HVAC technicians who are passionate about helping homeowners build their dream wine cellar. These experts incorporated glass and metal elements to achieve a minimalist yet luxurious look for the small wine rooms. Dealing with limited space did not stop them from doing an excellent job!
The homeowners in this project wanted an elegant wine cellar built in the living area during the construction of their house. They contacted Steve for a design consultation, and after a thorough assessment, Steve created a design for the modern home wine cellar. When designing metal wine racks, they always aim to maximize the storage capacity of the wine room, especially if it is small.
In this case, they chose triple-deep wine racks to increase the number of bottles that could be stored within the racking. They mounted the triple-deep wine pegs brushed with white acrylic paint into the walls at the top sections of the wine room. When viewing the wine room from afar, the bottles look like they are floating in mid-air. A stainless steel frame was added at the center of the back wall to provide storage space for a 6-liter bottle of wine.
The seamless glass wall and door allow the client’s wine collection to be visible from the living area without any obstruction. Cellar lights should be primarily considered in building modern home wine cellars. The LED lighting system added a dramatic effect to the modern wine room.
In another project completed by Steve and his team, they worked with the homeowners who are living in California, where people love to eat, drink, and socialize. The owners needed help adding a modern wine cellar in their dining room where they want their guests to enjoy their wine display.
There was an existing wine bar and a beam on the spot where the beautiful wine room was constructed. The countertop and flooring had to be demolished to provide a room for the wine cellar build-out.
Unlike other wine rooms built using existing walls, this wine cellar is located as a standalone wine storage structure, making it look like an aquarium filled with wine bottles. The easiest part of this construction project was designing and installing the wine rack system. Triple-deep (at the front) and single-deep (at the rear) metal wine racks from VintageView were installed. The label forward bottle configuration of the metal wine racks allows the wine labels to be viewed easily without the need to flip the bottle or open the compact wine closet.
A modern glass-enclosed wine display was created by Arctic Metalworks for a contemporary home in California. Their team installed VintageView metal wine racks on the sidewalls. A wooden backing was used to secure the wall-mounted wine racks in place and bear the weight of the bottles.
VintageView offers styles and finishes of metal wine storage systems to cater to the unique needs of each client. In addition to wall-mounted racking, they also have freestanding, floor-to-ceiling, and peg wine racks. The entryway is a seamless glass door that complements the existing décor of the home.
