Luxurious Wine Wall Design: a Stunning Feature of a Modern Home
A wine wall design is visually appealing and can be a focal point in a room or space. It comes in various materials such as wood, metal, glass, or a combination thereof, and can incorporate lighting. They can be tailored to fit specific spaces, ranging from small nooks to larger areas, and can accommodate various bottle sizes and quantities.
Add Luxury to Your Space with a Stunning Wine Wall Design
Wine walls are a specialized and visually appealing way of storing and displaying wine bottles within a dedicated space, often resembling a wall or an artistic installation. It is a modern and stylish approach to wine storage that focuses on both functionality and aesthetics.
It is often integrated into the overall interior design scheme of a space. They can complement the style of the room, whether it is modern, rustic, minimalist, or eclectic, adding an element of sophistication and luxury.
California has a rich and deep-rooted wine culture and is one of the world’s prominent wine-producing regions. Many Californians appreciate and collect wines, leading to a demand for proper storage spaces like wine cellars to preserve and age their collections.
In Orange County, the homeowners of a modern home sought the help of Coastal Custom Wine Cellars to construct their dream wine cellar. With extensive experience, they transform spaces into stunning wine cellars through modern wine wall designs. Their focus on form and function ensures a display that wine collectors can take pride in. Creative Orange County Experts Transformed a Small Space into a Striking Wine Display
The Coastal team, led by Steve Pantalemon, created a wine wall design that became the highlight of the home. The stunning wine storage closet was a perfect addition to the property, consisting of elements that complement the interior of the home.
Observing the pictures, you will notice the adjacent wine-drinking area adorned in neutral tones like dark browns, creams, whites, and ivory, accented by a large indoor plant for a touch of color. To make the modern wine cellar stand out, we chose deeper shades of browns and blacks, enhancing the contrast and adding a sense of tranquility to the entire room.
Stylish Wine Racks Incorporated Into the Wine Wall Design: Fusion of Wood and Metal
To align with the desired dark theme, a choice was made for Alderwood wine racking. The wood underwent staining in a rustic hue and received a sleek lacquer coating for a refined finish.
The wine racks were strategically built along all three sides of the contemporary wine closet, utilizing varied racking configurations to elevate its overall appeal. In the center, there’s a lone wooden row designed to display bottles, with a soft light underneath for clear visibility of the labels.
For the metal wine racks, VintageView’s triple-deep, black wall-mounted racks were chosen. Despite their slim look, the wine racks are remarkably sturdy and capable of securely holding even heavy wine bottles.
A set of metal rods can hold three standard 750ml bottles each. Instead of attaching these metal racks directly onto the drywall, the team installed backer boards, placing them about 0.5” away from the main wall and mounting the metal racks onto them. This setup allowed LED light strips to be placed behind the wall, creating a unique reversed spotlight effect.
In the middle of the wine-racking setup, there is a small cove area perfect for decanting wines. Currently, it features a glass sculpture illuminated by a simple overhead puck light.
Additionally, acrylic LED light panels were installed. These panels hide behind a translucent acrylic board, producing gently diffused lighting. This innovation is often used to elevate a wine cellar wall or create an impressive shelf base for wine racks.
The customized wine racking system is designed to accommodate 750 bottles of wine. If your collection surpasses this number, the team is capable of adjusting the racking design to fit your entire collection, ensuring a perfect fit regardless of the size or limitations of your space.
Glass Wine Cellar Doors: Perfect for Highlighting a Modern Wine Wall Display
To display the entire wine collection visibly, the team opted for framed modern glass wine cellar doors. These doors feature an oversized design with stainless steel framing that is fully foam-insulated. This insulation does not just apply to the walls but also seals air gaps around the door, ensuring a tight closure to prevent any air from passing through when shut.
For additional sealing of air gaps, weather stripping and U-channels were installed, similar to rubber gaskets found in hardware stores. However, recognizing the unique needs of a wine cellar door, the team can recommend specific weather stripping best suited for it.
The dual-paned, 1”-thick glass, combined with thorough insulation, helped maintain the desired 55-degree temperature in the room.
