Furthermore, these custom modern home wine cellars establish a strong emotional connection with those who use them, allowing homeowners to add personal touches and unique features that make the wine room truly special.
Our mission revolves around providing a visionary design service for wine and spirits aimed at helping both individuals and businesses, as well as their architects, designers, and agents, realize their aspirations in a feasible manner.
Throughout our journey, we have encountered numerous imaginative yet fundamentally flawed concepts. We have witnessed wine stored at incorrect angles, exposed to the wrong temperature and humidity, and even wine bottles bursting due to overheating. We have seen wine racks that do not accommodate bottles or cases properly, as well as cellars that have crumbled under the weight of poor design. In essence, the common denominator behind these wine cellar mishaps is a lack of knowledge.
Steve Pantalemon, the lead design specialist of Custom Wine Cellars Orange County, has cultivated a reputation for creating genuinely unique wine and spirit storage solutions using a wide array of materials. He believes that a space dedicated to wine, spirits, or cocktails is not solely about creating a beautiful object; it is about a meticulous understanding of potential issues and ensuring that the design accommodates unforeseen usage requirements, which might not have been considered in the original client brief.
In essence, we strive to make your wine and spirits space both exquisite and exceptionally functional, addressing potential pitfalls before they become problems.
We collaborate with top builders to create stunning wine displays and storage areas for homes. Our trusted partners include Coastal Custom Wine Cellars and Harvest Wine Cellars, both known for their knowledge, expertise, and creativity in designing unique residential wine rooms.
Wine Room Designs by Coastal Custom Wine Cellars
Coastal Custom Wine Cellars was approached by the homeowners in July 2014, as the wine cabinet was part of a broader renovation project already in progress. They started by talking to the homeowners about their cooling preferences and how they wanted to arrange and highlight their wine collection.
In this wine cellar makeover project, Coastal Custom Wine Cellars faced a challenge. They had to transform a small space within the client’s dining room. The wine cellar’s total depth was just 20 inches, with 13 ½ inches dedicated to wine racks and the remaining 6 ½ inches left for easy browsing and grabbing a bottle.
Despite these space limitations, the Coastal team brilliantly designed a luxurious custom home wine cellar. They installed floor-to-ceiling wood wine racks along the back wall to maximize storage capacity, and a glass front for excellent visibility.
The custom wine racks, made from durable wood, included various configurations:
- Horizontal wine racks for large-format bottles (three bottles deep)
- Individual wine racks for standard bottles
- Display rows set at a 15-degree angle to showcase some of the owner’s bottles
- Lattice diamond bins for bulk storage, better wine organization, and proper airflow around the bottles
- Wooden case storage for storing bottles in cases
This ingenious design not only maximized space but also added a touch of style and functionality to the wine cellar.
Home Wine Cellar with Transitional Design
Another expert in creating custom wine room designs converted a space into a striking wine display. A wine collector in Orange County reached out for their assistance. When you decide to collaborate with us, you can either ask us to create a design proposal or share photos that inspire you to convey your desired wine room look.
Initially, their client wanted a traditional wine cellar and showed us a picture of one with classic features. While it was a good starting point, the team eventually shifted towards a different design direction. The client preferred clean lines and a more modern look with minimal to no arches.
She later found another inspirational photo featuring a transitional wine cellar with a more minimalist vibe. To meet her preferences, they integrated some of the elements from that wine room into the design, giving the wine cellar a contemporary feel while ensuring it remained highly functional.
Elegant Features That Make This Home Wine Cellar Unique
Harvest Custom Wine Cellars built a refrigerated wine cellar in a small room within the client’s home. This room had a depth of 9.25 feet and a width of 7.7 feet, making the design of wine racks a bit challenging.
However, their extensive experience and expertise in wine cellar construction enabled them to overcome this challenge. When you enlist the services of a professional in constructing wine rooms, you can rest assured that any issue can be addressed, ensuring your collection is stored and displayed safely and beautifully.
In this particular project, the Harvest team collaborated closely with the architect, who initially designed the layout for this transitional wine cellar. The wine room design was impressive, but they made some adjustments in the placement of the wine cooling unit to ensure everything fit seamlessly.
The bottom section features double deep wine racks and twelve bins on both walls for increased bottle capacity. Some bins store cases, while others are rectangular.
A tabletop in the middle of the racks serves for decanting, and display rows above it help with inventory organization, with a 15-degree angle to keep the wine in contact with the cork. LED lighting highlights these bottles.
In the top section, there are individual wine storage racks for neck-forward bottle storage. At the top of the back wall, there is a square opening with a tabletop, surrounded by single wine racks and individual wine racks and magnum slots below it on both sides.
